Job Description

TMC Technologies is in search of a Communications Specialist to support a federal client in Rosslyn, VA. The candidate must be a US citizen and possess a minimum of an active Secret clearance to start due to federal contract requirements. This position is a telework-friendly position, but on-site days are required each month and frequency is dependent on program priorities and subject to change. The Communications Specialist will:

- Support the development and maintenance of cybersecurity awareness content for training, publications, activities, and events 
- Prepare cybersecurity awareness articles and assist with research 
- Prepare cybersecurity guides, fact sheets, and videos using software including Canva, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Acrobat Pro 
- Prepare the cyber news digest (email newsletter) links and products 
- Support cybersecurity awareness briefings, both in-person and virtual 
- Prepare social media posts and graphics 
- Monitor the program’s email inboxes and respond to routine inquiries 
- Maintain email listservs and related tasks 
- Pull user compliance records as needed for the mandatory cybersecurity awareness training course 

Job Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of professional experience is required. 4 years of experience can be used in lieu of degree requirement. A degree in communications or a relevant field is preferred but not required. 
- Active Secret clearance 
- Prior communications experience
- Strong research, writing, and proofreading skills - technical writing experience is a plus 
- Prior graphic design experience, including working knowledge of Canva, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Acrobat Pro, is highly preferred 
- Proficiency in maintaining email campaigns, distribution lists, and associated metrics is preferred 
- Strong communication and presentation skills 
- Strong attention to detail, organizational/planning abilities, and time management skills 
* May be asked to submit a one-page writing sample and graphics portfolio, if available
