Titan Security is Hiring a Director of IT Near Chicago, IL

The Director of IT role is to plan, coordinate, direct and design all operational activities of the IT department, as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance our business operations and efficiencies. This individual will collaborate directly with the senior management team and decision makers across all departments. Manage the infrastructure of the company including (ii) Security (physical office, server room, data, etc.), (ii) Disaster recovery/business continuity, (iii) Hardware/software purchases, and (iv) maintenance. Provide quality support to employees for technology related needs. In addition, this role, and its direct reports, will provide comprehensive technical support to technicians and end-users for installed security systems for moderate to complex problems related to our security systems solutions including Access Control systems, Video Management systems, and other associated products. 

Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning -- 20%-25%

  • Participate in strategic planning and operational processes of the business organization as a member of the senior management team.
  • Develop and maintain an appropriate IT organizational structure that supports the needs of the business as well as internal departments and branch locations.
  • Establish IT department goals, objectives, and operating procedures.
  • Establish lines of control for current and proposed information systems (hardware and software).
  • Develop and maintain an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan.

Operational Management -- 20%-25%

  • Analyze and inventory current IT hardware and software. 
  • Review hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts and pursue master agreements. 
  • Assess and make recommendations on the improvement or re-engineering of the IT infrastructure. 
  • Oversee the corporate network, phone system, domains, hardware and software.
  • Coordinate and facilitate consultation with departments to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.
  • Work with direct reports to manage day to day operations.
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
  • Approve, prioritize, and control projects.
  • Keep current with technologies, trends and issues in the IT industry. Advise, counsel, and educate executives and management.
  • Promote and oversee strategic relationships with IT resources including vendors and partner organizations.

Field Technician Support -- 50%-60%

  • Maintain, diagnose, and re-establish functionality of client critical systems.
  • Install operating system and application software for system servers and workstations. 
  • Perform complex security system programming. 
  • Design and engineer software solutions for client projects. 
  • Work with software vendors and contractors regarding system logic and operation.
  • Establish procedures and practices for the technicians to ensure timely resolution of client requests. 
  • Provide on-site and classroom training on system capabilities and operations for clients and technicians. Technician training at least quarterly and as-needed. 
  • Train and manage direct reports including junior IT/network support technicians

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science or other related field. At least 5-7 years experience in IT management including technical support in multiple operating systems and network environments. Considerable knowledge of business process, management, and business office operations. Prior experience as a hands-on IT Professional and possess familiarity with both legacy and new technology. Industry certifications and vendor certifications on support products a plus. Broad database knowledge and familiarity with query languages. Working knowledge of alarm panels, card access systems, and video matrix systems a plus. General knowledge of electronics, components, and construction. Proven leadership ability.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Ability to obtain a valid PERC. 

Language Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills for explaining complex situations to clients. 

Other Qualifications: Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Physical Demands: Standard office environment. Ability to push/pull/lift 50 lbs.
