ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greet and welcome guests with a smile as they explore the retail spaces, creating a positive and inviting atmosphere that ensures repeat customers.
• Approaching customers and, while using active listening techniques, inquire about their shopping needs and offering assistance to complete their shopping.
• Consulting on recipes
• Actively solicit and drive sales in a respectful and hospitable manner that meets customer needs.
• Provide accurate product information, features, and benefits to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.
• Operate cash registers and process transactions accurately, following company policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, ensuring products are well-displayed, have a price ticket, and shelves are stocked.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and contribute to the overall success of the store.
• Stay up to date on product knowledge, promotions, and sales events to provide accurate information to customers.
• Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and returns professionally and effectively.
• Participate in training programs to continuously improve product knowledge and customer service skills.
• Upsell and cross-sell products to enhance the customer experience and maximize sales opportunities.
• Assist with inventory management, including restocking shelves and conducting periodic stock checks.
• Follow all departmental and company procedures, practices, policies.
• Follow all safety and security protocols to ensure a safe shopping environment for customers and staff.
• Consistently report to scheduled shifts on time and ready to work in proper uniform.
• Operate ethically to protect the assets and image of the company.
• Perform all other tasks as duties as assigned and/or per business need.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• 2 years’ experience as a Retail Salesperson and/or relevant equivalent experience in customer service
• Prior grocery, culinary, hospitality or specialty food experience preferred.
• Exceptional guest service and interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication.
• Ability to remain organized in a fast paced, hands-on environment.
• Basic math skills for processing transactions.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays, as required.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. 
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing 10 – 30 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds on a regular (or occasional basis). 
• Ability to stand for prolong periods of time. 
• Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the property. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment. 
• Climbing steps regularly. 

The base pay for this position is $21.00 - $25.00 per hour. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills,etc.
