Job DescriptionTimmons Group is seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer III for our Commercial Land Development Group located in our Richmond, VA office.Our award-winning commercial team is looking for a candidate with 3-5 years of experience in VA land development projects. Our commercial team focuses on a wide range of project types including retail, multi-family, industrial, office, and unique destination style projects. We work throughout central VA and beyond with best-in-class clients developing marquee projects. Applicants should possess a diverse range of design skill sets and be well versed with state and local requirements in the project locations. Excellent communicators with an ability to work in either a team or an individual setting will be strong candidates for this position. This position will work with younger engineers and project managers on sites ranging from 1AC – 300 AC. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:Create project designs using relevant software including Civil 3DComplete supporting project calculations for site hydrology, earthwork balance, utility sizing, erosion control design, and engineering cost opinions Compile complete design details and plan sets for locality review & approvalWork with the project manager to process site plan reviews, revisions and submissions leading to approvals & permits from localities, VDOT, DEQ, and other agenciesSpecify proprietary site engineering elements such as underground drainage and stormwater management systems through the use of research and manufacturing catalogsCreate base maps, site test fits, and engineering reports for site due diligenceAttend client and stakeholder meetings with the project manager and other team membersComplete construction field observations, site visit reports, and conformance inspectionsWork productively in a team environment, maintaining good communication with cross-functional team members (both internal and external) throughout the project lifecycleSkills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related degree3- 5 years of experience in Land Development projects in VirginiaEIT required, PE registration is a plusAdvanced level of working proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3DWorking knowledge of SiteOps, Pondpack, Bluebeam, and ArcGIS are a plusSolid understanding of VA state requirements for stormwater management, VRRM, and currently permitted manufactured stormwater management systemsExcellent written and oral communication skillsAdditional InformationThe requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
