Job Title: CNC Operator
Overview: Timberlane, Inc., located in Montgomeryville, PA, is currently seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in CNC operations or a technical college degree, coupled with excellent mathematical skills. As a CNC Operator at Timberlane, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery, specifically routers and mills, to produce precision parts and components according to specifications
.
Responsibilities:
  • Machine Setup: Prepare CNC routers and mills for operation by reviewing job orders, interpreting blueprints, and selecting the appropriate tools and materials. Set up cutting tools, including tool holders, inserts, and collets, and verify fixture offsets to ensure proper alignment and positioning.
  • Programming: Load programs into CNC machines, or write simple programs as needed, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the machining process.
  • Operation: Operate CNC routers and mills to fabricate parts to precise tolerances, monitoring machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations from specifications.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications, making adjustments as necessary to maintain accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn tools or parts to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
  • Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following established safety guidelines.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including job setups, tool changes, and part measurements, to track productivity and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Communication: Collaborate with colleagues, supervisors, and other team members to coordinate workflow, share information, and address any concerns or challenges that may arise during the machining process.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in CNC operations or a technical college degree in a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, with strong mathematical skills for calculations and measurements.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Familiarity with CNC routers and mills, as well as basic mechanical principles and processes.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and precision in machining operations, with a keen eye for detail to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Effective problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot issues, adjust machine settings, and optimize production processes for efficiency and productivity.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
