TILLCLOT is Hiring a Staff Accountant Near Irvine, CA

WHO WE ARE:

We are a leading specialty retailer of casual apparel, footwear and accessories for young men, young women, boys and girls with an extensive assortment of iconic global, emerging, and proprietary brands rooted in an active and social lifestyle. We are based out of sunny Southern California at the Tilly’s RSC. You’ll hear the term RSC a lot, it stands for Retail Support Center since our corporate offices are here to support our retail and online stores.

SUMMARY:

The following is a brief description of responsibilities to be performed by the Accountant.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare, remit and reconcile monthly sales taxes for multiple states.
  • Book, record, and calculate use tax.
  • Prepare month end journal entries.
  • G/L account analysis and reconciliations.
  • Investigate P&L variances.
  • Prepare various month end reports as assigned or requested.
  • Request, prepare, and file various business licenses and permits.
  • Research, prepare, and set-up new state sales tax reporting paperwork.
  • Prepare and record year end property tax filings and oversee audits.
  • Assist with annual financial budget preparation.
  • Support with various projects.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge
  • Working knowledge of corporate retail environment.
  • Ability to reprioritize projects frequently.
  • Must have ability to multitask.
  • Must lead by example
  • Must be punctual and work planned schedule
  • Must maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times
  • Volunteers willingly for additional responsibilities
  • Remain open and adaptable to change and new challenges for growth
  • Evaluate current methods and suggests alternatives and/or improvement when applicable
  • Maintains exemplary degree of professionalism with all company employees
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and use basic problem solving skills.
  • Proficient in use of Excel, MS Word, and other MS Office software.
  • Able to effectively utilize basic office equipment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Business required – equivalent work experience ok
  • Retail accounting experience a plus
  • Knowledge of financial accounting principles and concepts (U.S. GAAP)
  • Large ERP experience

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • CPA/CPA candidate a plus.

What to Expect?

Annual Salary Range: $66,650-$68,000: Offer placement within this range is dependent on a variety of factors, including prior relevant experience, qualifications, and skill set.

Hybrid role based out of HQ in Irvine, CA with a minimum of 4 days in office.
