About the Team
The USDS Trust & Safety team develops and reviews our content policies to promote a positive and safe environment for all of our Users and Content Creators to enjoy and express themselves.
TikTok is looking for an experienced Instructional Designer to join the USDS Trust and Safety team. The Instructional Designer will be a vital part of the training team, creating training content for our global vendors and partners. The individual will work internally with teams across TikTok's organization to build instructor-led and eLearning courses to serve our content moderators across the globe. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders to identify the training needs and address them through effective training solutions.
Responsibilities

• Design and develop training programs utilizing various learning methodologies and leverage learning technology to roll out these programs. Training programs will range from virtual instructor-led training sessions, safe-paced e-learning courses, and blended learning solutions.
• You will apply your knowledge of adult learning theories to identify appropriate training modality and structure based on learner needs, content requirements, and targeted performance outcomes.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop effective training materials.
• You will apply your knowledge of adult learning theories to identify appropriate training modality and structure based on learner needs, content requirements, and targeted performance outcomes.
• Collaborate with the policy team to understand and deliver policy updates, work closely with the quality team to identify gaps that should be addressed through training solutions.
• Create and maintain training infrastructure to deliver high quality training materials, implement robust tooling solutions and to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Measure learning effectiveness and analyze training gaps to create learning experiences that will bridge these gaps and meet desired performance outcomes.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of instructional design experience in creating, developing, and delivering training programs using industry standard authoring tools and software
• At least 1 years of experience with LMS platforms
• A background in content moderation, policy development or trust & safety is a plus
• You have knowledge and understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design methodology
• Excellent planning and organization skills, strong project management skills, ability to independently manage several simultaneous training projects from analysis through implementation and evaluation
• Excellent written & oral communication skills, public speaking, presentation skills, and overall interpersonal skills
• Strong stakeholder management skills, ability to effectively collaborate and communicate across functions
• You have the ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt to business needs, and work in a fast-paced environment
• You have experience working with international partners across different time zones and cultures

Job Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $79800 - $188522 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
