WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

As a Senior Accountant you will join our Finance and Accounting team of five and will help to grow the accounting infrastructure of TIFIN and its multiple divisions. The team is based in our Boulder Headquarters, so we are looking for someone in the Boulder / Denver area. TIFIN is a high velocity startup environment and we are seeking an individual who will thrive in a get-it-done environment and can adapt to new demands with a strong sense of urgency and precision. In order to succeed in this environment, you must be a motivated and tenacious self-starter who is comfortable operating autonomously, navigating ambiguity, and creatively solving problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of accurate and timeline financial records, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliations and financial statements.
  • Assist the team with meeting monthly/quarterly deadlines and close-activities.
  • Ensure compliance with and proper application of U.S. GAAP including analysis of complex transactions (debt issuances, equity, leases, purchase accounting, etc.).
  • Assist with preparation of consolidated financial statements and knowledge of intercompany transaction mechanics.
  • Analyze new and proposed accounting standards in order to determine the impact on the company and implement new accounting standards as required.
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of quarterly and annual reports and other periodic/ad hoc reports including board deliverables, compliance certifications with our lenders, and disclosures to our key customers.
  • Support year-end audit activities including audit requests and the preparation of financial statements, supporting footnotes and schedules, and accounting memoranda.
  • Conduct and document research of non-routine accounting transactions to conclude on the appropriate application of U.S. GAAP.
  • Provide accounting support for mergers and acquisitions including integrations and consolidations.
  • Assist with finance due diligence, preparation of closing and opening balance sheets, purchase accounting adjustments, and post-close accounting maintenance.
  • Assist with selected monthly and quarterly analyses to support senior leadership reviews of acquired companies.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 years of experience in an Accounting Team - ideally in a fast-paced startup environment or in public accounting
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (preferred)
  • Experience with NetSuite a plus
  • Ability to focus in while also being able to switch gears as new demands arise
  • Experience in a software/SaaS environment and with accounting and financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP (particularly ASC 606, 842, 470, and 805) including the preparation and/or review of financial statements and footnotes.
  • Strong information systems/ERP system experience with superior Excel skills.
  • Detail-oriented with both the ambition and willingness to dive into the details necessary to accomplish responsibilities and solve problems.
  • Ability to work effectively with others, stay organized, and continuously improve.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter excited about FinTech and eager to join a new team and contribute from day one
  • Based in the Greater Boulder area

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS PACKAGE:

For Colorado Applicants: The expected starting salary range for this position in Colorado is between $70,000 - $85,000. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. The position is also eligible for incentive compensation as well as client acquisition bonus program.

A note on location. While we have team centers in New York City, San Francisco, Charlotte, and Mumbai, TIFIN is headquartered in Boulder, CO and our preference is to build the team here whenever possible, so relocation packages are available for any candidate willing to relocate to the Boulder area.
