Tiello is Hiring a Civil Estimator Near Kansas, MO

Tiello has partnered with a premier Heavy Civil General Contractor in the Kansas City, MO area on their search for a Heavy Civil Estimator to focus on grading, paving, and bridge construction projects.

As a Project Estimator, your main responsibility will be to compile estimates for the cost of work by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Included in this will be the estimation of labor, material, equipment, and time requirements in order to compute the overall cost and duration of the project.

Job Title: Heavy Civil Estimator

Project Types: Infrastructure, Grading, Paving, Bridge Construction

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project plans, requirements, and specifications
  • Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and material pricing
  • Propose value engineering options to reduce project cost
  • Determine costs of labor, material, and equipment
  • Push the evolution of the construction documents as necessary
  • Prepare conceptual estimates
  • Meet and maintain bidding and work schedules
  • Submit requisitions for the purchase of materials
  • Compare competitive specialist and material

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimation within the heavy civil construction industry, specifically with grading, paving, and/or bridge projects.
  • Proficient in an estimating software such as: Agtek Gradework, Highway, Underground and Materials, AutoCAD, HCSS HeavyBid, and/or Bid2Win, Bluebeam Revu
