Tidewater Express Inc is Hiring an Auto Body Technician Near Virginia, VA
- Identify, prioritize, and perform needed auto body repairs on light to heavy duty vehicles
- Follow all workplace and OSHAA safety requirements
- Prepare vehicles to be painted by repairing collision damage, filling, sanding, and refinishing
- Be able to sandblast and paint vehicles or vehicle components
- Realign vehicle frames and repair structural damage
- Remove, repair, or replace damaged vehicle parts with power and hand tools
- Assist with scheduling vehicle downtime
- Maintain and clean tools, equipment, and shop space
- Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of vehicles structures
- Be familiar with the characteristics of metals, plastics and compounds used in vehicle construction
- Skills to use full range of repair techniques including hydraulic tools and presses
- Replace trims, seals, decals, and check for imperfections during the finishing process
- Have a strong attention for details
- Should have a “team first” attitude and maintain our team atmosphere even in stressful situations
- Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with co-workers or customers
- Needs to be able to operate a forklift
- Should have specialty and common power and hand tools
- Must pass a drug screening
