TIAA is Hiring a Sr. Developer, Operations Technology - AVP Near Charlotte, NC

Job Details

The Nuveen Operations Technology team is seeking an experienced Sr. Developer to lead a team providing world-class delivery on all Nuveen Operations Technology applications and processes. A suitable candidate would be someone who is extremely customer focused, who could multi-task and utilize both written & verbal communication skills to provide solutions to a diverse range of complex technical issues, and possesses domain knowledge of Investment Management with special focus on Operations Technology.
Investment Management Business areas supported include Corporate Actions, Trade Operations, Portfolio Accounting, Performance, Pricing, Collateral Management, and Derivatives Trade workflow. Business and Operational knowledge of Equities, Futures, Forwards, Options, OTC and Cleared Swaps, Mutual Funds, Structured Products, ETF, Fixed Income Securities and Alternative Investments like Private Equity & Hedge Funds is a must. Also desirable would be direct experience working with external financial market data vendors like Bloomberg, IDC, S&P, Reuters, & FACTSET.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • The right person will be highly technical, analytical, and have experience in leading and providing solutions to technical teams composed of developers and testers. In addition, this person will have a record of supporting new initiatives, medium to large sized projects or enhancements across Fixed Income, Equities and Derivative asset classes.
  • Liaise closely with all Front & Back Office operations and technology application teams to provide Technical Design, Requirements and review Functional requirement focusing Eagle application by adhering SOP.
  • Improve efficiency by reviewing patterns and identify opportunities for automation.
  • Standardization of tools, processes, reporting across support to drive transparency, efficiency and agility.
  • Manage a team of developers across US and Off-shore sites to provide technical oversight and lead them in a way that they will deliver quality results.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree Required

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • 5 yrs of Software Development experience
  • Experience in building ETL applications on AWS Platform.
  • 3 yrs experience in AWS Compute (EC2 , EMR)
  • Experience inSnowflake and Python
  • 3 years of experience working with in the Financial Services Industry.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematical Finance, Accounting, Math or related technical area.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Working experience related to patterns and anti-patterns related to data movement and file movement patterns
  • Proficiency in CI/CD and deployment automation using Cloudebees and Gitlab
  • Proficiency in Cloud infrastructure provisioning using Terraform.
  • Advanced understanding of Container Orchestration Services including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Exposure to Sterling Integrator and Autosys would be a big plus.
  • Experience leading and supporting junior developers
  • Ability to follow Hybrid Project Management Methodologies using Waterfall and SCRUM across projects and programs
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework and technical controls and written and oral communications skills
  • Experience with the Asset Management and Middle Office experience is highly preferred.

Base Pay Range: $104,300/yr. - $147,000/yr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
