Threshold Rehabilitation Services, Inc., a human service agency supporting people with disabilities is actively seeking an energetic, team-oriented professionals to join our team in our IDD Residential Services Department.

The Behavior Support Specialist's responsibilities include completing assessments, developing and updating behavior support plans along with training agency staff.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Complete assessments of individualized needs for individuals who receive 1:1 care, have a Behavior Support Plan (BSP), a Restrictive Procedure Plan, or who have a protocol pursuant to 55 Pa. Code 6400 163(b) to address social, emotional, and environmental needs.
  • Develop person specific Behavior Support Plans for assigned caseload. Continually assess and revise Behavior Support Plans as per regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure written plans and communications comply with agency policy and Chapter 6400 regulations.
  • Maintain routine communication with support teams including ongoing training of Behavior Support Plans. Maintain accurate documentation of these trainings.
  • Participate in medical, psychiatric, and therapy appointments as needed for the individuals. Provide summaries and data to support communications for all appointments.
  • Produce agency documentation expectations related to Behavior Support.
  • Assist with agency training related to Behavior Support and other clinical specialties.
  • Present BSPs to the Rights Committee.
  • Provide non-routine guidance to individual support teams in crisis and/or debriefing.
  • Comply with Threshold's Confidentiality Policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of IDD Services.

The hours for this position are Monday to Friday, less than 30 hours per week, flexible. These are great part-time work hours!

Requirements

  • Pennsylvania Behavior Support Specialist License or Master's Degree or higher in Psychology, Special Education, Counselling, Social Work, Education Applied Behavioral Analysis or Gerontology.
  • Training to conduct and use a Functional Behavioral Analysis and training in positive Behavior Support.
  • Minimum of two years experience in supporting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
  • Computer knowledge is a must
  • Valid PA Driver's License
  • PA Motor Vehicle Record Check
  • Use of vehicle while working with valid registration and insurance coverage indicating you are an insured driver
  • Pre-employment Drug Screen
  • Pre-employment Physical Exam
  • Pre-employment TB (Mantoux) Test or Chest X-Ray (if applicable)
  • PA Criminal History Clearance
  • FBI Clearance (if candidate has not been a resident of PA for the past two consecutive years)
