Three Ships is Hiring a Content Editor | Stacksphere Near Charlotte, NC

About the Role

Stacksphere is a leading provider of B2B Tech & Services information, serving small- to mid-market businesses with our suite of channels for educating buyers and connecting them with top SaaS providers. At Stacksphere, we’re thinking bigger and better about how to tackle the B2B Tech opportunity, and we’re connecting tech buyers with software vendors more efficiently.

We are seeking a skilled Content Editor to join our team and play a pivotal role in creating compelling and informative content that aligns with industry trends and engages our target audience across a range of B2B categories. As an Editor, you will be responsible for researching, writing, and editing high-quality content that is on time, optimized, and meets our editorial rigor. You may also help create concepts and ideas for new content as well as research new category expansion and industry insights to create unique, bar-raising content for our audience.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Ensure each page we publish meets our best practices for winning organic search and delights our audience by understanding both what Google is rewarding and what readers want to know.
  • Plan, develop, and create content for use by a consumer and/or small business audience across multiple topic areas, in collaboration with content strategists.
  • Edit and proof articles for editorial excellence and commercial success.
  • Coordinate with brand partners and media publishers to meet style and editorial guidelines.
  • Participate in regular editorial meetings to brainstorm content ideas, review editorial deadlines, educate writers, and organize cross-content promotions.
  • Write new pieces and update existing articles to infuse new research or industry trends to ensure our content stays relevant.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to inform content strategy.
  • Conduct in-depth research and expert interviews to become a subject matter expert on various B2B tech and software products and inform high quality, highly relevant content.
  • Publish articles on our CMS
  • Demonstrate a meticulous approach to your work, with a highly organized process and an unfailing eye for detail. Take ownership of all assigned projects.
  • Measure program effectiveness, analyze data, and provide recommendations and insight via weekly reporting. Use these and other performance metrics (traffic, conversions, revenue) to inform our content strategy moving forward.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree (Journalism, Communications, English, or another writing-intensive field preferred).
  • 5 years of proven experience writing, editing, and producing content for the web. Experience in SEO-driven and/or Media Publisher / Affiliate content is a bonus.
  • Strong research skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into engaging content.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills: You maintain a methodical process and high standard of excellence in your work while balancing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrate exceptional critical thinking skills by evaluating content, identifying inconsistencies, and proposing strategic editorial solutions to enhance our content and the production process.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally to manage project plans.
  • Ownership mentality: you care deeply about the content that you produce and showcase a sense of pride for your work. You want to create content that is deeply researched and creates unique value-add to the reader.
  • Agility: You are comfortable in an often-changing and fast-paced environment. We are a small and nimble team.

While we’re looking for some specific experiences and skill sets, nothing is more important than a strong can-do attitude, resilience in the face of change and uncertainty, and a passion for learning and creating.
