Three Rivers Diagnostics is looking for a Microbiology General Supervisor. A Microbiology General Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and oversight of laboratory operations, testing, personnel performing testing, and reporting test results.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Direct and maintain operations of the Clinical Microbiology laboratory including overseeing testing, instrumentation maintenance, staff training, competency assessment, proficiency evaluation, performance management and documentation
• Develop, engage, recognize, train and support technical and non-technical staff
• Develop and follow Quality Control and Quality Management System elements through the entire test system workflow (preanalytical, analytical, and post analytical phases)
• Manage department and individual performance by providing feedback and coaching to staff members
• Maintain departmental operating policies and procedures to include departmental SOPs, quality control, quality assurance and safety
• Review completion of patient test results, quality control results and tracks productivity
• Take corrective action to resolve issues involving test results, quality, instrumentation, compliance and employee performance

Required Qualifications:

• Qualified as General Supervisor and Testing Personnel for high complexity testing AND a minimum of 4 years bench experience in Microbiology (required) with Beckman MicroScan System.
• BS or MS Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences, or other science/laboratory related degrees/education.
• Certified MLS or MT from American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to promote teamwork in a positive work environment
• In-depth knowledge of antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) for different specimen types and familiarity with CLSI guidelines
