The Role

The Assistant Director of Finance will be on a team responsible for the oversight of all accounting processes within two Hyatt Hotels within a multi-use building, working in unison with the Area Director of Finance.

By joining the team, you will be working within a very supportive and dynamic role to ensure that the department provides the upmost accuracy of accounting and analysis, while thriving to improve on efficiency and processes and meeting guest and owner expectations.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

• Manage and help oversee hotel on-site accounting functions to ensure proper fiscal management, timely and accurate reporting, and analysis for the hotel. It includes:
• Daily income audit; daily report including payroll review
• Aging and accounts receivables
• Coordination with shared services both for event billing to collections
• Assist in preparing month-end adjustments and journal entries while adhering to GAAP, USALI and SOX compliances. Assist in Balance Sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with third-party partners’ billing and reconciliations and with owner reporting.
• Assist with completing the year-end audit process.
• Assist with contract review and maintaining licenses and permits.
• Support all finance and purchasing functions.
• Assist Director of Finance with any additional projects as necessary.
• Blackline reconciliations.
• Bank statement review.
• Kronos management.
• Help coordinate and complete hotel audit process.
• Responsible for the management of the Accounting team.

Both hotels are anchored on the ground floor by our cantina-themed restaurant, Arriba Abajo, a 13,000 sq ft. indoor and outdoor oasis as well as The Diner Bar The Grey Market, a street-side concept serving daily fare for locals, residents, and guests alike and helmed by award-winning Chef Mashama Bailey. This mixed-use project will also feature a residential tower – Sienna – and 10,000 square feet of retail space and a 7,000 sq. ft. state of the art fitness center and simulator room, appropriately named the “T” Box.

• Hospitality or Accounting degree preferred
• 2 years or more of progressive Accounting experience, preferably in a hotel
• Experience supervising Accounting staff members
• Prior MICROS, ADP/Enterprise, TimeSaver, and Hyatt systems (Opera and PMS) expertise desired
• Must be an advanced user of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
• Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line
• Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English
• Must have excellent organizational, administrative and problem-solving skills
