Must be a High School graduate or equivalent and Graduate of an approved school of

Radiological Technology and Completion of an approved training program in Nuclear Medicine.

Licensure/Certification/Registration Requirements:

Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in X-ray and Nuclear

Medicine, or Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Certification Board (NMTCB).

Current BLS Certification is required.

Technologist will administer radiopharmaceuticals to detect disease, use radiation producing and detecting equipment. This will be done under the direction of the Authorized User for PET/CT; ensuring viable images are obtained for interpretation. Will also perform Cat Scan studies, when schedule allows.

middot; Open the ldquo;hot labrdquo; each day, performing the appropriate quality control on the equipment.

middot; Receive into the inventory the radiopharmaceuticals needed for the day.

middot; Prepare PET/CT unit by doing the daily quality control on the system.

middot; Take a complete and accurate history from the patient.

middot; Performs ordered examinations of appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of Aria Health.

middot; Practices radiation safety, following all regulations (both federal and state).

middot; Make sure the patient is comfortable at all times while in the ldquo;quiet roomrdquo;.

middot; Acquire a complete and accurate scan.

middot; Provide accurate and complete post processed images to the reading physician in a timely manner.

middot; Ensure cleanliness of the suite at the end of the day.

middot; Perform daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly QA as required by PA DEP regulations.

middot; Trouble shoots system and calls for service when needed.
