Job Description:

Thomas Instrument is currently seeking a NC Programmer. This position is for a highly experienced individual with the ability to program complex, high precision parts for Mill turns. Primarily lathes with live tooling with Y and C axis along with subspindles in a variety of typical aerospace materials.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Ability to develop programs for lathes with live tooling and multiple axis’
  • Ability to read and understand the sequences and detailed steps on work orders/routers.
  • Should be capable of working with a team of Manufacturing Engineers to develop workflow processes and provide potential changes that will result in a more cost-effective machining solution.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Proficient with GD&T.
  • Capable of selecting application specific tooling to ensure quality, longevity, and efficiency.
  • Ability to develop, design, and create blueprints for fixtures and custom tooling.
  • Ability to manage programming assignments while actively supporting the shop floor.
  • Able to troubleshoot setups, feed and speeds, tooling, and machine issues in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to effectively interface with customers, team members and individuals in technical discussions and solutions.
  • Ability to inspire others to participate, and mitigate conflict with co¬workers.
  • Ability to respond to, anticipate, and manage change.
  • Enthusiasm in pursuing a project, task, subject or activity.
  • Ability to listen, write, and convey information effectively.

Experience

  • Preferred experience working with CATIA NC (V6 or 3DEXPERIENCE R2019X) programming software preferred but not required.). Suitable alternatives are GibbsCam, Master Cam, CATIA NC V5, NX(CAM) or Pro-E(CAM).
  • Experience programming high precision parts in a range of common aerospace materials.
