Primary Purpose:

The HR Generalist plays a pivotal role in the human resources department, responsible for a wide range of HR activities to support the organization’s objectives and foster a positive workplace environment. This role involves handling various aspects of HR functions, including payroll, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compliance, and HR Administration.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (* = essential functions):

  • Payroll – performs semi-monthly payroll.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding:
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions along with salary ranges.
  • Post internal and external job posts utilizing the HRIS.
  • Screen Resumes, conduct interviews, and facilitate the selection process.
  • Coordinates new employee onboarding, including orientation sessions and paperwork for HR and Compliance.

Employee Relations:

  • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and support.
  • Address employee relations issues promptly and effectively, following company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints or misconduct as necessary.

Performance Management:

  • Assist in the development and implantation of performance management processes
  • Guides managers and employees on performance feedback, coaching, and development plans.
  • Participate in performance management discussions.
  • Monitor performance management reports to ensure timely reports are done.

Compliance:

  • Stay updated on employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR Policies and procedures.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date employee records and documentation.
  • HR Administration:
  • Manage HR- documentation and processes, such as employment contacts, HRIS data entry, and reporting.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR Policies, procedures, and initiatives to support organization goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • 5 years or more of ADP Payroll processing.
  • Requires specialized knowledge in administrative functions, professionalism, and overall business procedures as is generally acquired through 1-2 years of experience in a small to medium-sized company
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality at all times
  • Requires ability to manage multiple job assignments with meticulous attention to detail
  • Requires accurate written and oral communication skills and the ability to make informed, well-thought-out decisions
  • Requires exceptional interpersonal skills and will consistently promote a positive work environment
  • Requires strong computer competency, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Has experience with stress management, works well under pressure with the ability to meet deadlines

P osition Performance Criteria:

  1. Technical Solid knowledge of computer systems competence including Word, Excel, Outlook (for E-Mail & calendaring), and PowerPoint.
  2. Communication Communicates, professionally, and respectfully to peers, superiors, subordinates, and clients.
  3. Reliability Can be counted upon to get the job done correctly and within the required timeframe. Competently performs position requirements with limited supervision and assumes responsibility for follow-through. Demonstrates high reliability through consistent punctuality and attendance.
  4. Productivity, Organization, and the Ability to Prioritize: Completes tasks and projects assigned in a timely and efficient manner, organizing work assignments and working independently, meaningfully prioritizing tasks and projects assigned.
  5. Workplace Civility and Professionalism – Contributes to a fair and professional working environment. Demonstrates overall professionalism in attitude, demeanor, and personal appearance. Ability to handle stress management.
