Third Pole, Inc. is Hiring a Senior Software Integration Test Engineer - Embedded Near Waltham, MA

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Integration Test Engineer who desires to make a significant impact in the development and verification of cutting-edge medical devices which generate and deliver Nitric Oxide therapy.

Primary responsibility will be to support and provide technical expertise to the Software Quality Assurance effort to drive improvements in product quality and the efficiency of the SDLC. You will be a champion of software quality processes for the entire company.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with software developers to create integration tests for new features 
  • Design, implement, and operate software test frameworks 
  • Apply and adhere to IEC 62304/FDA guidance in developing software integration protocols/reports 
  • Software level debug of software components/hardware 
  • Participate in regular Scrum events such as sprint planning, review and retrospective
  • Perform software demos at end of sprints 
  • Setup automated software development pipelines for continuous and regression test activities 
  • Assist in troubleshooting software problems 
  • Collaborate with software development teams to identify and resolve system defects 
  • Document and communicate test results, and track software bugs and their resolution 
  • Participate in code reviews 
  • Provide software technical support for other engineering groups as needed. 
  • Keep abreast of applicable technical and industry standards, tools, techniques, and methodologies related to software testing, and drive continuous improvement and strategic development of the test processes and procedures throughout the company
  • Support execution for the software integration of product software

Requirements:

  • BS or MS degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering and 6 years of related professional experience
  • Relevant working experience in Medical Device Software Integration with experience in embedded software integration test preferred
  • Programming experience in C, C , and Python
  • Relevant experience in using DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git, Jira, Ceedling, VectorCast, QT Test, CodeSonar or other statis analysis tool
  • Proficiency with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools such as JIRA, and peer reviews 
  • Working knowledge of IEC 62304, ISO 14971, ISO 13485 and FDA and EU guidance and regulations related to medical device software
  • Experience testing complex electro-mechanical medical devices controlled by software 
  • Strong documentation and writing skills.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development process preferred.
  • Prior experience in developing or validating Safety critical embedded software is a plus.
  • Experience in medical device cybersecurity and its implementation preferred
  • Understanding of schematics and data sheets of underlying hardware is a plus
  • Ability to work in cross functional teams with Systems, Mechanical, Electrical and Software engineers when discovering, documenting, and resolving integration issues
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams of software integration test engineers and technicians (in-house or contract) and manage a project to success
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
