SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Family Assessment Services(FAS), this position is responsible for supervising staff that provide assistance, assessment, treatment and/or mediation services to client population including youths, adolescents, families, and adults. This position serves the Court in a capacity that provides assistance in ensuring that effective and appropriate services are provided to the Court, and to its clientele, per funding/accreditation standards. Employees in this title are expected to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Ensures delivery of timely and quality services to the public, Judges, and State Court Administrative Office in accordance with state and federal laws.• Resolves issues and answers questions presented by staff and the public related to all services within FAS and other related court matters.• Assists the Director of FAS with the management of the department by participating in the identification and evaluation of needs and the development and implementation of policies, procedures and programs.• Coordinates and monitors intern and parent educational programs.• Manages the identification and evaluation of needs and the development and implementation of policies, procedures and programs, making recommendations as appropriate.• Directs, reviews and evaluates performance of assigned personnel by developing and updating operational manuals, identifying and assigning work tasks and goals, communicating work performance expectations, establishing professional development plans, implementing corrective action plans, approving time, conducting periodic performance reviews, acknowledging accomplishments, providing assistance and issuing discipline.• Identifies professional development needs of staff. Meets as needed with reporting staff regarding operational goals, clinical supervision, status changes and other pertinent information.• Maintains current case and statistical records to ensure documentation requirements.• Provides the Court with reports, signed agreements and expert testimony when required.• Ensures staff complies with Court, Clinic, CMH, Medicaid, CARF, standards, policies and procedures.• Assists in the enhancement and expansion of the Court’s delivery of services by serving as a consultant on research projects and program development and implementation.• Ensures a diverse and inclusive work environment by participating in Diversity and Inclusion trainings and workshops, may serve as a member of the Court’s Diversity and Inclusion team, and promotes the best practices of Diversity and Inclusion. • Develops a framework for succession planning for key positions under your span of control through identifying succession candidates, assessments, competency development, training, and mentoring; integrating the succession plan into the employee’s training and development plan; assessing the potential for supervisory and management positions for the individual based upon measurable goals.• Acts as an advisor/coach for staff, supervisors and managers under your span of control imparting expertise and professional knowledge; Collaborating in the development of yearly professional goals; meeting with the candidate(s) no less frequently than on a quarterly basis to review achievement of goals and training objectives; providing impartial, measurable, non-judgmental feedback on a yearly training and succession plan focusing on development to meet future business needs.• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• At a minimum Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Counseling from an accredited college or university.• Five (5) years of paid, post-graduate experience providing assessments and/or mediation services for families (may include legal conflicts regarding child custody and/or parenting time). • Seven (7) years of practice as a forensic clinician.• Five (5) years of increasingly responsible paid management experience that involves program coordination.• Current Michigan Licensed Psychologist (LP), Limited Licensed Psychologist (LLP), or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) all of which must be in good standing.• Credentialed mediator or ability to obtain mediator credential within six (6) months of starting position.• Proficient using MS Office Suite and relevant software and systems

• Ability to effectively communicate; to write clearly and concisely; to interact with those from various backgrounds; to understand the speech of another person.• Ability to multitask and meet various simultaneous deadlines set by governmental agencies, Court Administration and other departments within the Court.• Ability to interact with various Court agents and personnel and to work on significant projects.• Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce positive results.• Ability to ask and answer questions and to explain Court procedures to internal and external customers in a courteous and professional manner.• Ability to communicate information and ideas effectively so that others can understand.• Ability to deal calmly and effectively in high stress situations.• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, employees, officials and external contacts.• Ability to maintain a professional rapport in a variety of interview situations.• Ability to meet and interact with the public and deal courteously and effectively with their questions or problems, seeking assistance when needed.• Ability to operate office equipment.• Ability to understand and carry out instructions and to request clarification when needed.• Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to legal problems and matters.• Excellent interpersonal, written and/or verbal communications skills for dealing with clients, the Court, and law enforcement authorities.• Excellent facilitation, presentation and meeting management and public speaking skills. • Excellent communication skills for preparing reports and recommendations.• Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.• Skill in managing one’s own time and the time of others, as well as the ability to meet deadlines.• Skill in counseling employees and interacting tactfully.• Thorough knowledge of Court processes and procedures

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Normally a typical customer service office environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise.• Employees in this title may encounter individuals who may be under duress.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time to perform job functions.• Ability to detect, create and interpret documents.• Operate a computer and other office machinery, items or equipment.• Position self to move from one place to another.• Communicate with clients, co-workers, and others.• Ability to operate a motor vehicle.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: 
• Candidates considered for placement in this job title will be subject to a criminal and/or IV-D background investigation and subsequent fingerprinting every five (5) years.• Must possess (at time of application) and maintain a valid Michigan driver’s license, no fault insurance and access to a vehicle to use in the performance of assigned duties.• Current Michigan Licensed Psychologist (LP), Limited Licensed Psychologist (LLP), or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) all of which must be in good standing.
