SUMMARY:Under direction of the Department Director or Designee, this position is responsible for supervising staff and completing evaluations to ensure caseload coverage related to specialized assessments. Assists in ensuring that effective and appropriate services are provided to the Court, and to its clientele per funding/accreditation standards. Employees in this title are expected to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Ensures compliance with funding and accreditation sources by completing audits and reviews, co-chairs committees, monitors the quality of service delivery; assists with the development of quality improvement plans.• Ensures high quality and timely completion of specialized assessment cases by training and supervising staff.• Ensures caseload coverage by providing various direct service activities as assigned. This includes but not limited to psycho-diagnostic evaluations, treatment, and crisis intervention.• Contributes to short and long-term planning and development activities by recommending changes or additions to policies and procedures and preparing drafts of written guidelines as assigned. Assesses service needs and develops new programming which improves and/or expands service delivery. Represents the Court on committees and boards as assigned.• Assists in the enhancement and expansion of the Court’s delivery of services by serving as a consultant on research projects and program development and implementation.• Ensures staff complies with Court, Clinic, CMH, Medicaid, Child Care Fund, CARF, standards, policies and procedures.• Assists with the implementation of plans or agreements by providing families with referrals to appropriate resources and coordinating with other professionals in the community.• Ensures necessary documentation of case activities by maintaining current case records and completing statistical records as assigned.• Assists with the identification and evaluation of needs and the development and implementation of policies, procedures and programs, making recommendations as appropriate.• Meets as needed with reporting staff regarding operational goals, status changes and other pertinent information.• Supervises reporting staff by identifying and assigning work, documenting work performance metrics and communicating work performance expectations, establishing professional development plans, providing training, implementing corrective actions plans, approving time, assuring appropriate staffing coverage, conducting periodic performance reviews, acknowledging accomplishments, providing assistance, and issuing discipline.• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ph.D. in Psychology; fully licensed psychologist in the State of Michigan.• Five (5) years of experience providing psycho-diagnostic assessments and/or mediation services of both children and adults.• Experience with supervision and/or program coordination.• Proficient using MS Office Suite and relevant software and systems.

• Ability to perform psychological testing concerning children, adolescents, and adults.• Ability to effectively communicate verbally; to write clearly and concisely; to interact with those from various backgrounds.• Ability to identify and understand the speech of another person.• Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce positive results.• Ability to communicate to ask and answer questions and to explain Court procedures to internal and external customers in a courteous and professional manner.• Ability to communicate information and ideas effectively so that others can understand.• Ability to deal calmly and effectively in high stress situations.• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, employees, officials and external contacts.• Ability to interact with those from various backgrounds; to understand the speech of another person.• Ability to meet and interact with the public and deal courteously and effectively with their questions or problems, seeking assistance when needed.• Ability to operate office equipment.• Ability to understand and carry out instructions and to request clarification when needed.• Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.• Excellent communication skills for preparing reports and recommendations.• Knowledge of the community and its resources. • Skill in managing one’s own time and the time of others, as well as the ability to meet deadlines.• Thorough knowledge of Court processes and procedures.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Normally a typical customer service office environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise.• Some assignments must be performed in a field environment.• Employees in this title may encounter individuals who may be under duress.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time to perform job functions.• Ability to detect, create and interpret documents.• Operate a computer and other office machinery, items or equipment.• Position self to move from one place to another.• Communicate with clients, co-workers, and others.• Ability to operate a motor vehicle.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: 
• Current Michigan Licensed Psychologist (LP) in good standing.• Must possess (at time of application) and maintain a valid Michigan driver’s license, no fault insurance and access to a vehicle to use in the performance of assigned duties.• Candidates considered for placement in this job title will be subject to a criminal and/or IV-D background investigation and subsequent fingerprinting every five years.
