Job Summary

This position will lead a team and be responsible for; preparing and delivering performance assessments; working with team members to create personal and professional development plans; provide ongoing coaching and feedback. Other responsibilities include providing support for all departments and branches in regards to purchasing, retention of records, contract services, property management, space planning and other special projects. In addition, the department manager provides support for all security needs of the Corporate Campus and branches.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinates the activities and development of all Building and Security Services’ team members. This includes all aspects of planning, organizing, and managing.
• Develops short and long term departmental goals, which support the goals of the organization. Manages supplies purchasing, building leasing/rental and renewal, vendor selection and performance for the Building and Security areas.
• Member of the Incident Management Team, and supports emergency preparedness and business continuity practices to ensure continuation of key operations.
• Responds to all emergency calls by home phone, pager, or cell phone on a 24 hour per day, 7-day per week basis, on a rotational schedule with team members.
• Must possess the physical ability to move about the facility, from the basement to the roof, in any type of weather, to manage activities when necessary. Some traveling required.
• Develops programs to reduce costs and effectively utilize labor, material, and energy.
• Monitors the activities of contractors and vendors with all appropriate departments to assure projects and project activities do not interfere with productivity and are performed in accordance with applicable laws and safety standards.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of five years’ experience managing a department in this discipline.
• Experience with strategic planning, budgeting, and project management.
• The ability to communicate clearly and succinctly at all levels of the organization.
• Strong customer service and problem solving skills.
