This position is responsible for developing application enhancements and maintaining application-specific critical infrastructure with a particular emphasis on the Loan Origination System. Specific experience with Dark Matter’s Empower is a strong preference to be able to provide value in this role quickly. Development efforts include changes directly within Empower, as well as ancillary development to support loan origination activities, including interfaces with third-party vendor systems. The role also includes work that falls between purely development activities and infrastructure activities; these tasks include server- and workstation-related maintenance as well as collaborating with the teams that perform part of these duties today.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a team of developers to enhance, maintain, and support loan origination in Dark Matter’s Empower
  • Work to enhance and improve deployments of Empower and our delivery pipeline
  • Work closely with infrastructure, networking, firewall, security, and sys admin teams to understand our environment; find ways to speed our application infrastructure deployment and maintenance while maintaining appropriate levels of security
  • Work closely with team of business analysts to communicate needed changes and monitor progress
  • Provide support for application-specific services and interfaces to third parties
  • Recommend improvements to make organization more effective; work closely with management to get support for these improvements
  • Perform root cause analysis for errors
  • Understand limitations, both technical and otherwise, in our organization and work within these limitations
  • Implement and improve monitoring and alerting
  • Assist with building automated testing

Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field, or comparable work experience
  • Experience with Dark Matter’s Empower is strongly desired
  • Desire to learn, both industry standard tools and our environment
  • Proven excellence in relationship building, ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Good experience with a CI/CD pipeline tool; Azure DevOps a plus
  • Good working knowledge of PowerShell or equivalent scripting tool
  • Good working knowledge of servers, networking, and network infrastructure, or willingness to learn
  • Good working knowledge of firewalls and security tools, or willingness to learn
  • Good working knowledge of SQL
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage concurrent projects and issues
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Willingness to take ownership of support issues
  • Shows initiative; motivated to make a difference
