Mental Health Technician - Internal Candidates Only

Job Duties Overview: Under the direction of a licensed mental health professional, assists in the maintenance of a safe and therapeutic environment. Supervises patients in the treatment milieu and facilitates effective engagement with staff and other patients. In addition to standard MHT duties, will support Therapy Team leadership as described below:

Additional Duties (may vary by shift):

• Serve as Manager delegate and primary point person to Mental Health Technicians on assigned shift
• Report all notable staffing, scheduling, and logistical updates to applicable management staff, including Clinical Administrative Specialists
• Assist in the development and maintenance of relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Lead or assist with the training and onboarding of all new/transferred MHT's to assigned shift
• Attend staffings and provide report out as needed/required
• Ensure timely, effective, and complete handoff between shifts

• Ensure MHT-involved program activities are delivered per scheduled plans
• Monitor general state of daily readiness of all cohorts/groups; ensure adequate clinical and functional supplies prepared for day to day operations
• Ensure adherence to infection control procedures by all patients in cohort
• Facilitate groups as needed/required
• Assist in the development and implementation of program initiatives as they relate to MHT's
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Current Mental Health Technician at THIRA Health in good standing
• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience; Bachelor's preferred
• Ability to support programming on alternative shifts 
• Valid drivers license, willingness and ability to transport patients safely in facility vehicle (requires internal van driving assessment and associated training)
