Thermon is Hiring a HSE Manager Near San Marcos, TX

We are looking for an HSE Manager to serve as a key member of the HSE group in aligning and developing HSE best practices, processes, policies, and programs for the company. The HSE Manager will provide specialized HSE expertise to ensure that all safe work conditions are maintained at all Thermon locations and that these conditions meet the company standards and provincial and federal legislative requirements.

Primary Duties

  • Build and maintain credible relationships with first-level, mid-level and executive leaders in the organization through trust, consistency, collaboration, effective communication and results.
  • Build, design, develop and administer HSE practices in the region that align with Company goals to drive the business.
  • Implement HSE processes, including policies, which reflect compliance with Client and federal regulations (including but not limited to: OSHA, EPA)
  • Collaborate with the business and global HSE team to develop streamlined approaches and consistent people leadership practices that provide high-impact solutions to the business.
  • Advocate and drive for the resolution of HSE issues and concerns including internal investigations, corrective actions and coaching.
  • Champion and model our core values, engraining them into the culture and the psyche of the organization.
  • Independently provides full service HSE support for regional business including Construction Projects (Site Support) and field services.
  • Continually challenge and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of HSE programs and services and implement changes as appropriate to meet business and local cultural needs.
  • Provide site support on a regular basis (attending safety meetings, site inspections, customer meetings etc.)

  • Demonstrated experience building an HSE team and driving best practices into an organization.
  • Strong team building and communication skills and the proven ability to influence and manage change.
  • Strong business acumen, attention to detail, follow-up skills, and ability to influence and work with leaders and employees of all levels in a matrix organization.
  • Experience developing core HSE policies, procedures and processes.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of legislation, regulations, claims managements and accident prevention relation to HSE.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline.
  • CSP or ASP Certification required.
  • 5 years directly related experience in development and administration of Health & Safety programs.
  • Up to date in OSHA Health and Safety legislation.
  • Knowledgeable in manufacturing Health and Safety regulations.
  • Knowledge in Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) is beneficial.
  • Verbal and written fluency in English and Spanish a plus.
  • Experience in a welding environment a huge plus.
  • Communicates and interacts effectively with internal staff, office visitors, clients and vendors.
  • Strong computer proficiency, with emphasis on MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is mandatory.
  • Must be able to travel -/ 20%, mostly within US.
