Thermon is Hiring a Supervisor, Production (Wire Plant) Near San Marcos, TX

Thermon is currently in search of a Production Supervisor for our Wire Plant.
As a Production Supervisor, you will make an impact at Thermon by overseeing processes by managing staff on the production floor, and coordinating resources to meet deadlines and production expectations with little or no supervision. Duties will include assigning employees to production stations, monitoring output levels at different points in the production process and implementing company policies. Responsibilities will also include involvement in hiring, discipline and terminations as appropriate.
This is an night-shift onsite role from our San Marcos campus at 100 Thermon Dr. San Marcos, Texas.
To be successful in this role, you will have experience -
  • Managing and leading production staff work schedules, time off, leave of absence.
  • Staffing personnel based on production needs.
  • Recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, and developing employees.
  • Enforcing all company and safety policies.
  • Prioritizing and assigning production operations based on production schedule to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Building and sustaining a positive employee experience through employee recognition, performance management, open communication and trust.
  • Establishing individual KPI's to meet company key results and manage employee performance to ensure quality and production standards are met.
  • Overseeing and working to resolve NCR's and Customer Complaints.
  • Maintaining quality assurance on all materials being produced in the department.
  • Assuring all preventative maintenance activities are completed as required.
  • Developing standard operating procedures for equipment and assembly operations.
  • Managing Tooling Maintenance Program for sheet metal fabrication equipment.
  • Managing raw and finished goods inventory levels.
  • Coordinating with Purchasing to ensure material availability and accurate lead time assignments. Ensuring waste from processes are properly managed.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by management
Planning
  • Review all and coordinate all jobs released to the Wire Plant area.
  • Monitor levels of stock materials in the area and requisition materials.
  • Distribute jobs to the required personnel.
Continuous Improvement
  • Participates in Kaizen events as needed
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the wire plant area functions and processes.
  • Identify and implement improvements to the the wire plant process.
  • Identify losses to parts and WIP, and ensure root-cause analysis of such losses are conducted.
  • Hands-on support to the production team when required.
Team Leadership and Employee Management
  • Building Collaborative Relationships. Develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others inside or outside the organization who can provide information, assistance, and support.
  • Managing Performance. Responsible for one's own or one's employees' performance, by setting clear goals and expectations for the job and Thermon's 3C's (Care, Commit, Collaborate), tracking progress against the goals, ensuring feedback, and promptly addressing performance problems and issues.
  • Foster Teamwork. As a team member, the ability and desire to work cooperatively with others on a team; as a team the ability to demonstrate interest, skill, and success in getting groups to learn to work together.
  • Manages conflict resolutions by working closely wit the local HR team for any support and guidance as needed.
Qualifications
  • 5 years of combined experience is required: two (2) years experience in a supervisory role and three (3) years in environment.
  • GED, Technical/ Mechanical diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience is a plus.
  • Computer Literacy experience, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • At least 2 years experience working with ERP Financial Systems is required.
  • Solid understanding of lean and root cause analysis.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a demonstrated ability to use manual machine and hand tools.
  • Able to read and interpret technical blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Familiar with sheet metal fabrication equipment including turret presses, press brakes, deburring equipment
  • Familiar to use production software application. (CAD)
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal direct supervision (i.e. self-directed).
  • Skilled at planning, estimating and reporting.
  • Superior analytical problem-solving skills, attention to detail and quality.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of product sequences and capabilities.
  • Effective planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to deal with a diverse workforce along with demonstration of valuing teamwork.
  • Value meeting the expectations and requirements of internal customers.
  • Able to lift or move up to 50lbs.
