About The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Cloud Engineering to lead our cloud infrastructure and engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, architecture, and management, with a proven track record of successfully implementing and optimizing cloud solutions. As the Director of Cloud Engineering, you will be responsible for developing and executing the cloud strategy, overseeing the design and deployment of cloud infrastructure, and leading a team of skilled engineers to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud-based systems.

Responsibilities: 

Cloud Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive cloud strategy aligned with business goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate and recommend new cloud technologies, services, and best practices to enhance efficiency and innovation.

Infrastructure Architecture and Design:

  • Lead the design and architecture of scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overall technology and business architecture.

Team Leadership:

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performance cloud engineering team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

Cloud Implementation and Optimization:

  • Oversee the implementation and deployment of cloud solutions.
  • Continuously optimize and refine cloud infrastructure to improve performance, cost-effectiveness, and scalability.

Security and Compliance:

  • Develop and enforce security policies and procedures for cloud-based systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Partner / Vendor Management:

  • Collaborate with cloud service providers and other technology vendors to ensure effective partnerships and optimal utilization of services.

Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

  • Implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address performance issues.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage budgets for cloud infrastructure projects and ongoing operations.
  • Optimize costs while maintaining high-quality cloud services.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3 years in a leadership role overseeing cloud engineering teams.
  • 7 years in cloud transformation, managing and optimizing cloud-based environments.
  • Strong expertise/experience in cloud platform - Google Cloud (Must have)
  • Ability to strategically plan, prioritize, and problem solve. 
  • Well-developed business and financial and acumen to develop scalable, cost effective, and efficient solutions to meet short term and long term needs.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud architecture, security, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications in cloud technologies (eg. Google Cloud)
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Previous experience in a similar industry or domain.
