The World's Largest Social Network is Hiring a Robotics Lab Tech Near Pittsburgh, PA
HireArt is helping the world’s largest social network hire a versatile and passionate Robotics Lab Tech to take the operational responsibility of its fleet and perform maintenance. In this role, you’ll work extremely closely with the company’s robot fleet and co-ordinate reliable operation/careful experimentation with a fast paced research team. The ideal candidate has experience working with real world devices (e.g. data centers, assembly line, sensors, robots, etc.) and is able to maintain/debug real-world hardware and real-time data streams. You must be independent, self-motivated, well-organized, possess strong problem solving skills, and be able to multitask. As a Robotics Lab Tech, you’ll:
Take care of continuous operations, upkeep, and management of the robot fleet and robotics lab.
Design and, and perform real-time tracking of, health and utility metrics of the robot fleet.
Monitor test runs and recover “unresponsive” clients.
Detect, analyze and mitigate operational bottlenecks.
Detect, analyze and mitigate hardware failures.
Improve development, automation and failures.
Perform issue duplication and isolation.
Support system debug work.
Setup and carefully execute experiments as requested by the research
team.
Read, analyze, summarize, and submit experimentation logs to the
team.
Perform robot teleoperation to collect expert data.
Perform device and driver integration, upkeep, and upgrades.
Perform sensor and robot calibration.
Perform system upgrades.
Assist with validation and verification of new hardware platforms.

Comfort working with Linux-OS
Some experience with scripting in Python
Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related engineering experience
Proficiency working with laboratory equipments
A positive attitude towards challenges and solving complex problems
Preferred requirements:
1 year experience working with real world devices and data streams or equivalent
Experience working with robots
Skill writing scripts to gather and process data
Skills to gather data with tele operation
Skill to maintain robots and data pipelines
Skill to gather, process, and summarize experimental data and results
Commitment: This is a full-time, 12-month contract position staffed via HireArt and based in Pittsburgh, PA.
