HireArt is helping the world's largest social network find a Technical Artist (Python) to be responsible for the technical aspects of art asset development.
In this role, you will work closely with Art and Engineering to develop and support the asset pipeline, animation and rigging tools and real-time effects.
We're looking for someone with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience. The ideal candidate has prior experience as a 3D tech artist working with Maya Python.
As Technical Artist (Python), you will:

• Partner closely and lead the engineering and design teams in defining and developing content
• Design, manage and maintain the pipeline from artists and designers through to deployment
• Optimize content through enhancing performance and instructing the artists and designers on asset creation, modeling and texturing best practices
• Manage the technical animation pipeline including developing Maya tools and plug-ins for rigging and animation, and hooking up animations
• Develop broad technical expertise to assist in a wide variety technical and artistic tasks
• Quickly solve issues with cross-functional leads
• Thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environment

• Expert ability to work on game development, game profiling and optimization techniques
• Expert ability in creating tools and automation for one or more packages (e.g. Houdini, Substance Painter, Substance Designer, ZBrush, Knald, Marmoset, Photoshop, etc.)
• Experience shipping products with stringent runtime performance constraints (e.g. complex mobile or 3D applications or games)
• Expert leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback
• Creativity, expert verbal/written communication and problem solving skills
• Expert ability to work independently and manage one’s time

Commitment: This is a full-time,12-month contract position staffed via HireArt. This position will be hybrid (working 2-3 days in office) and will be available to candidates who are able to commute to the Burlingame, CA area.
