Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare professionals in providing patient care
- Prepare patients for examinations and visits
- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare provider
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens (phlebotomy is a plus)
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and medical equipment
- Schedule appointments, answer phone calls, and manage patient records along with verifying insurance
- Provide patient education and instructions as directed by healthcare provider
-Needs to be willing to give immunizations to children (GRITS knowledge is a plus)
-Comfortable with collecting money
- Flexibility to work both in the front and back office is required
Experience:
- Comfortable with technology is a must
- Experience working as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding
- Proficiency in basic life support (BLS or PALS) techniques
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient service
