STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:
Services and activities provided in accordance with Parents as Teachers (PAT) guidelines to develop positive and enduring relationships with families parenting young children.
Parent Educators will ensure families receive consistent research-based, evidence-informed services and that parents are empowered to use the information to create safe and nurturing environments for their children.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING:
parenting practices, provide early detection of developmental delays and connection to services, improve parent, child and family health and well-being, prevent child abuse and neglect, increase children’s school readiness and success, improve family economic well-being, strengthen community capacity and connectedness). Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employee may be asked to participate in cross-training programs or pursue additional education or training when it is determined to be in the best interest of the organization. Employee must maintain annual certifications.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a normal office setting, client’s homes and the community. Noise level is moderate with occasional loud outbursts.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
