The Wellness Plan Medical Centers is Hiring a Dentist (Full-Time) Near Detroit, MI

Dentist is responsible for providing dental care to patients of TWPMC. This position will provide dental care for 95% of the time and administrative responsibilities 5% of the time.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (minimum requirements):

Formal education required:

  • Doctor of Dental Medicine or Dental Surgery from an accredited institution. License to practice dentistry in the State of Michigan.

Experience/skills/ability required (number of years and type):

  • Minimum of 3-years of progressively responsible management experience in dental care related organization
  • Experience working in a Dental family practice
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters
  • Meets all attendance and punctuality requirements to ensure proper coverage and quality service
  • Ability to resolve interpersonal and professional conflicts appropriately
  • Ability to formulate decisions and make judgments that are demanding and interpretative
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships
  • Effectively and efficiently complete all paperwork requirements
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of computer, Microsoft Office

Specialized training and/or certification/license:

  • DEA License and current license with State of Michigan

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains professional behavior at all times
  • Performs dental examinations, procedures, and prescribes medications to patients as assigned or as needed
  • Advises patient on dental care education issues when needed
  • Protects patients’ oral health by diagnosing and treating disease, injuries, abnormalities of teeth and gums, and undertaking preventive procedures
  • Advises patients on good health practices
  • Ensures patients receive educational materials that pertain to their dental health needs
  • Refers patients to specialists when required and in accordance with their insurance restrictions
  • Performs procedures on patients in need. Develops and implements goals and objectives to ensure high quality, cost effective clinical care
  • Ensures all patient charts are completed within 24-hours of the patient visit, and the charting is comprehensive and legible
  • Plans and implements policies, procedures and systems to achieve stated goals and to ensure compliance with regulatory and third party mandates
  • Regularly advises the management team on issues regarding operations and patient care, including staffing, data collection, clinic flow, appointment systems, client recall process, ancillary services and customer satisfaction
  • Implements procedures and clinical programming that would improve the continuum of patient care in an ambulatory setting
  • Participates in the Performance Management (PM) process
  • Maintains compliance with the corporate Privacy and Confidentiality Policy and the privacy and security regulatory requirements of the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Complies with all corporate policies and procedures, which includes and is not limited to the Compliance Program, Code of Conduct, and state and federal regulatory requirements
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management
