Business Financial Analyst
JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Financial Analyst to join our revenue and strategic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in optimizing financial and strategic operations including financial analysis across our hospitality group to ensure the fiscal health of our restaurant, golf, and adventure divisions. This candidate should have a high proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Power BI. The role involves standardizing forecasting models, creating P&L’s, budgets and analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and providing actionable insights to support key business decisions to drive business growth and success.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
  • Prepare and present reports on financial performance, including variance analysis and key metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data for decision-making purposes.
  • Utilize SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from databases to support financial analysis.
  • Create interactive dashboards and visualizations using Power BI to communicate insights effectively.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial processes and procedures.
  • Support ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Conduct regular financial analyses, providing insights into business performance.
  • Collaborate with department heads to forecast future financial performance.
  • Lead the budgeting process, working closely with department managers to establish annual budgets.
  • Monitor budget performance and variance analysis, recommending corrective actions when necessary.
  • Provide guidance on resource allocation to optimize financial outcomes.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, financial regulations, and company policies.
  • Contribute to the preparation of annual financial statements.
  • Evaluate the fiscal impact of business initiatives, investments, and potential opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the company's financial strategy.
  • Identify and assess financial risks, proposing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and economic factors affecting the financial landscape.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required, Master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial analysis or related role
  • Experience in the hospitality, restaurant, or guest experience sector preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, data analysis, and functions to analyze and manipulate data for various purposes, such as budget tracking and sales forecasting
  • Strong SQL skills with experience in querying databases and manipulating large datasets
  • Proficiency in Power BI or similar data visualization tools
  • Solid understanding of financial concepts and principles
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders
  • Proven experience as a Finance or Business Analyst with a proven history of creating financial processes and structure
  • Proficiency in data analysis, using metrics to inform decision making and drive efficiency improvements
  • Strong leadership qualities with effective cross functional collaboration experience and results driven
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, mindfulness and a commitment to accuracy
  • Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or CMA a plus
Expected Pay Range: $75,000 - $85,000 annually.
