JOB OVERVIEW
The Assistant to the Facilities Maintenance Operator with a focus on pool maintenance provides essential support in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of both indoor and outdoor pools within a facility. This role involves assisting with pool maintenance tasks, general facilities maintenance, and collaborating closely with the Facilities Maintenance Operator to maintain a safe and functional environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Assist the Facilities Maintenance Operator in conducting routine maintenance and cleaning of indoor and outdoor pools.
Help monitor water quality, pH levels, and chemical balances, and perform water testing as directed.
Assist with the operation and maintenance of pool equipment, including pumps, filters, heaters, and chemical feed systems.
Learn troubleshooting techniques and help address any equipment issues under supervision.
Aid in cleaning pool surfaces, decks, and surrounding areas to remove debris, algae, and other contaminants.
Assist in conducting inspections and reporting any damage or safety hazards to the Facilities Maintenance Operator.
Provide assistance with repairs and maintenance tasks related to pool equipment, plumbing, and structural components.
Help with tasks such as repairing leaks, replacing damaged tiles, or servicing pumps and filters under supervision.
Learn and adhere to all safety regulations and protocols for pool operation and maintenance.
Assist in implementing safety measures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe environment for pool users.
Assist in maintaining accurate records of pool maintenance activities, water testing results, and chemical treatments.
Help with inventory management of supplies and equipment needed for pool maintenance tasks.
Collaborate closely with the Facilities Maintenance Operator to learn essential skills and techniques for pool maintenance and general facilities upkeep.
Take direction and guidance to develop proficiency in all aspects of the role.
Provide assistance with general facilities maintenance tasks, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
Learn and perform routine inspections and maintenance to contribute to the overall functionality and safety of the facility.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma.
Willingness to learn and develop skills in pool maintenance and facilities upkeep.
Certified Pool Operator certification required.
Strong interest in maintenance and repair work, with a desire to gain experience in pool maintenance.
Basic understanding of mechanical systems and willingness to learn about pool equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a positive attitude and willingness to take direction.
Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
