Position Summary

Performs maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and related systems, with a focus on Volvo and Detroit Diesel Series 60 engines.

Essential Job Functions

• Diagnosing Engine Issues: Responsible for identifying and diagnosing problems with diesel engines, including those manufactured by Volvo and Detroit Diesel.
• Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks to ensure the engine operates efficiently and reliably.
• Electrical and Electronics: Responsible for diagnosing and repairing electrical and electronic systems in diesel engines, such as sensors, wiring, and control modules.
• Brake and Transmission Systems: Responsible for the brake and transmission systems of vehicles equipped with diesel engines to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Fuel Systems: Inspect, repair, and maintain fuel systems, including fuel injection pumps and injectors.
• Computer Diagnostics: Use computerized diagnostic tools and software to identify and rectify issues with engine performance and emissions control systems.

Additional Job Functions

• Work every day to make Encore the industry leader meeting cost, quality, and schedule goals.
• Attend various meetings in person, by phone, and using web services.
• Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment including and not limited to gloves, safety glasses, and/or hard hat when required in certain areas of the conversion center.
• Travel as required.
• Must maintain an excellent attendance record following all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Able to perform all PM services.
• Able to utilize Fleet Maintenance System autonomously.
• Able to move coaches in and out of the bay and on property safely.
• Able to connect trailer to coach safely.
• Understands and demonstrates safe use of all shop equipment.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms, to stand, walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, push, or pull and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The work environment is primarily in an office setting; however, visits to the production floor are expected and are usually noisy and dusty. It does not always maintain a consistent temperature but is dry. Noise levels are moderate to high with some chemical odors present. When on the production floor, PPE is required where noted.

Safety Requirements:

• Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment including and not limited to gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, and or a respirator may need to be worn when handling hazardous products or working in hazardous environments.
• Maintain and participate in keeping personal work area, shop, and tools clean and in proper working order to ensure a safe working environment.
• Hazardous materials are used in the production process. Employees must follow all safety guidelines and know evacuation procedures, the location of first aid stations, and MSDS locations in areas they work or visit on Company property.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
