The Wall Las Memorias is Hiring an Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator Near Los Angeles, CA

Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week, 100% onsite)
Salary: $48,000 depending on experience and expertise
Benefits:
· Medical, 85% paid by employer (employee only)

  • Employee responsible for dependents.
· Paid vacation (80 Hours first year of employment, after 5 years it increases to 96 hours)

About TWLM: The Wall Las Memorias serves low-income and hard-to-reach communities throughout Los Angeles educating community members on the importance of HIV and AIDS, substance abuse prevention, mental health stigma reduction for LGBTQI2-S transitional-aged youth (TAY), and community building in the Latinx and marginalized communities.
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator to join our team. The Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator will play a crucial role in identifying opportunities for volunteer and staff outreach in our local community. The ideal candidate will be skilled in communication, networking, and understanding of the various communities TWLM serves. This position will organize a recruitment process of potential volunteers and provide training on community engagement and outreach.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Outreach and Community Engagement:
o Develop and implement outreach strategies to increase community awareness of our organization and its initiatives.
o Establish and maintain relationships with community partners, local businesses, and other relevant stakeholders.
o Represent the organization at community events, fairs, and networking opportunities to promote volunteerism and our mission.
o Utilize social media and other communication channels to enhance outreach efforts and engage the community.
Data Management and Reporting:
o Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours, activities, and impact for reporting and grant purposes.
o Generate regular reports on volunteer engagement and outreach efforts for management and stakeholders.
Volunteer Engagement:
o Recruit, screen, and onboard volunteers in alignment with the organization's needs and values.
o Develop and maintain volunteer databases, tracking their skills, availability, and interests.
o Organize orientation sessions, training, and ongoing support to ensure volunteers are well-prepared for their roles.
o Foster a positive and inclusive volunteer environment, promoting teamwork and camaraderie.
Volunteer Coordination:
o Collaborate with program managers to identify volunteer needs and deploy volunteers accordingly.
o Schedule volunteers for various projects, events, and initiatives, ensuring adequate coverage.
o Monitor and evaluate volunteer performance, providing feedback and recognition as appropriate.
o Address any volunteer-related issues or concerns in a timely and compassionate manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
· Previous experience in volunteer management, community outreach, or related fields is preferred.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
· Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Proficient in using digital tools, including Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
· Passionate about the organization's mission and committed to making a positive impact in the community.
· Knowledge of LGBTQ issues and communities
· Knowledge of the local Los Angeles community, geography, and population
· Ability to work with diverse populations and stakeholders.
· Preferred bicultural and bilingual in English and Spanish
Requirements
· Possession of a valid California driver’s license
· Possession of automobile liability insurance
· Available personal transportation
