Overview: The Village School of Naples seeks a dedicated, dynamic, and experienced individual to assume the role of Varsity Cheerleading Coach for the upcoming season. The successful candidate will lead the varsity cheerleading squad in promoting school spirit, enhancing athletic skills, and fostering a culture of teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Leadership and Mentorship: Provide effective leadership and mentorship to the varsity cheerleading squad, inspiring excellence and promoting a positive team culture. Also helping develop and build the Middle School staff.
• Skill Development: Develop comprehensive practice plans aimed at improving cheerleading techniques, stunts, tumbling, jumps, and choreography.
• Routine Creation: Design, choreograph, and teach dynamic and competitive routines for performances at school events, pep rallies, and competitions.
• Physical Conditioning: Implement structured conditioning programs to enhance the team's physical fitness, strength, and flexibility, ensuring injury prevention and optimal performance.
• Safety Oversight: Prioritize the safety and well-being of team members by enforcing proper techniques, spotting procedures, and safety protocols during all team activities.
• Team Management: Coordinate team logistics, including tryouts, uniform fittings, fundraising initiatives, and team-building activities, to ensure a cohesive and successful season.
• Communication and Collaboration: Maintain open and transparent communication with team members, parents, school administration, and other stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and alignment towards common goals.
• Competition Preparation: Prepare the team for competitive events by organizing competition logistics, providing guidance on rules and regulations, and instilling a competitive yet sportsmanlike mindset.
• Professional Development: Stay abreast of current trends, best practices, and safety standards in cheerleading through ongoing professional development opportunities and collaboration with peers in the field.

Requirements

• Previous coaching experience in cheerleading at the high school or competitive level is preferred.
• Knowledge of cheerleading techniques, choreography, and safety protocols.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve their full potential.
• Flexibility to accommodate evening and weekend practices, games, and competitions.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Clearance of background check as required by the school district.
