Job Description: Directs and provides nursing care to critically ill patients. Demonstrates nursing knowledge through the competent application of the nursing process. Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development. Advocates and practices age specific, patient focused care for all age groups. Acts in accordance with the American Nurses Association code for Nurses and follows the philosophy of the Alice Hyde Nursing Department. Applies critical care technical and “thinking” skills according to established policies and standards. Demonstrates leadership abilities by functioning as a professional role model. Responsible to teach and educate as necessary to achieve the desired outcome. Understands the importance of adhering to all regulatory agencies to assist AHMC In achieving desired goals.Successful completion of an approved nursing program. New York State nursing licensure, current registration, or temporary permit to practice in New York State. Practices within the guidelines of the New York Nurse Practice Act. Previous experience in a critical care unit preferred. Must successfully complete the Arrhythmia/ICU class, equivalent, and/or receive a passing grade on the Challenge Exam. ACLS and BLS training and updating required. (PALS, ATLS, and CCRN encouraged.)
Unit Description: Alice Hyde Medical Center is 25-bed acute care facility with an 11 bed Emergency Room. The ED sees 35-55 patients in a 24-hour period operating with 11 beds and 4 additional hall beds to accommodate volume surges. Nurses are required 1 year Med/Surg experience, Critical Care experience is preferred. The incumbent of this position will float between the Emergency Department, Med/ Surg and Intermediate Care Unit.

Incentives: $10,000 Sign-on Bonus (pro-rated for part-time)
