Salary Range: Up to $50,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.
Hours: Temporary position up to two years contingent upon funding, could be extended. Up to 40 hours per week, exempt.

Job Summary
Plan, direct, and supervise a major unit engaged in research, investigation, or other technical operations.
Core Responsibilities
- Develops and designs plans for research experiments.
- Writes investigation reports, coordinates lab and report preparation, and directs research.
- Supervises the preparation of project proposals and fieldwork.
- Consults with and assists key members of research staff in solving specific problems encountered in the project.
- Reviews progress and reports final results to the director or principal investigator of the unit or project.
- Performs public outreach.
- Attends meetings, seminars, and symposia in related fields of research.
- Presents papers and publishes results of research projects.
- Assists in the preparation of grant and budget proposals.
- Takes a proactive approach to assist co-workers in various tasks, to ensure safety.
- Performs work tasks in a safe manner and following work instructions.
- Proactively makes recommendations to improve safety.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ph.D. from an accredited institution with major coursework in the field of assignment.
- Four (4) years of related research experience.
- Knowledge of the use and design of specialized research equipment as required by the project.
- Five (5) or more years of related research experience.
- Knowledge of scientific equipment used in related fields of research.
- UTSA is a tobacco free campus.
- This is a security sensitive position. Employment is contingent upon a successful background check.
- Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
- Valid driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) as applicable.
- Usual laboratory or office conditions.
- Requires work with hazardous equipment or materials.
- May require travel off-campus and extended overnight stays.
- Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required, only occasionally.
- Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
