Job Description:

The University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES) Horn Point Laboratory (HPL) is seeking a post-doctoral Assistant Research Scientist to develop and apply numerical models to investigate the impacts of climate change on estuarine and coastal waters, including inundation, salt intrusion and water quality. The research team is led by Dr. Ming Li.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography or related field is required. Demonstrated skills in numerical ocean modeling and data analysis are also required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience with interdisciplinary research such as coupled hydrodynamic-biogeochemical models is preferred. The successful candidate is expected to have excellent verbal and written communications skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work with an interdisciplinary team of scientists and stakeholders.
