The University of Alabama is Hiring a Student Engagement Coordinator - 523680 Near Tuscaloosa, AL

Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $44,200 - Midpoint: $55,300 (Salaried E6)

Department/Organization: 200019 - Capstone Center for Student Success

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm; some evenings & weekends required

Job Summary: The Student Engagement Coordinator works to advance campus engagement for various student populations, including transfer and first-year students.

Additional Department Summary: The Student Engagement Coordinator within the Office of Student Academic Engagement & Advocacy (SAEA) works to advance campus engagement and student success initiatives for student populations from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, such as the Lucy's Legacy Living-Learning Community, as well as other tailored programmatic efforts within SAEA and the Capstone Center for Student Success. Coordinates the Lucy's Legacy Living-Learning Community in efforts related to recruitment, early fall semester welcome events, academic engagement, weekly social programs, and mentoring resources. Works to address gaps in retention, persistence, and graduation, with a particular focus on academic interventions for SAEA students on academic warning, near academic warning, and students enrolled in specific courses. Directs academic engagement initiatives for students. Serves as a point of contact for students seeking academic support. Develops strong relationships with academic college personnel and partner with academic support staff within the Capstone Center for Student Success. Works nights and weekends as needed.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience; OR master's degree.

Skills and Knowledge: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and relationship-building skills. Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff in a collaborative manner. Computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet and/or database management, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications: Masters Degree in Higher Education or related fields or 18 graduate semester hours and experience in designing and coordinating programs for first-year students.
