Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $44,200 - Midpoint: $55,300 (Salaried E6)

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm

Job Summary: The Research Project Coordinator supports the overall development of research project (s). Assists with project design, management, and implementation. Promotes the project and serves as liaison between the project and contacts internal and external to the University. May supervise students, provide general office assistance, create promotional materials, and assist in the development of other potential projects.

Additional Department Summary: The HUD Project Coordinator (PC) is responsible for administratively managing large, complex research studies. The PC will: provide input in the development of program plans and objectives with responsibility for achieving objectives within defined parameters; supervise a small staff; be responsible for long-range planning, networking with community partners, and technical training and assistance, including managing compliance issues; research data collection; and report writing.
The PC will serve as the point person to lead and coordinate outreach and engagement with community partners. The PC will manage community health workers and student assistants.
The daily activities for the PC will include, but are not limited to, leading study staff, ensuring all research compliance protocols are approved and followed by staff, and maintaining appropriate research supplies. Daily attention to detail is required. Properly leading the members of the research team will be a central activity for the PC.
The PC will develop relationships with community partners and clinicians in the project target area as well as manage the development of learning communities and scheduling their meetings. The PC will oversee the planning and implementation of community events, manage communication within the project group, and oversee all study-related data reporting.
The PC should show evidence of competence and demonstrated promise of moving towards excellence in professional leadership and practice. The PC should also independently contribute to the planning and implementation of research, as well as support research, such as monitoring outcomes and mentoring/training undergraduate and graduate students.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher and some experience coordinating projects.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Familiarity with the communities in West Alabama; experience engaging community organizations; a proven record of project management, including organizing events and managing staff; and experience with financial management and grant budgets and reporting.

Skills and Knowledge: Ability to work well on teams and experience training students.

Preferred Qualifications: Extensive demonstrated experience managing large-scale projects, and some experience working with diverse rural communities.
