The University of Alabama is Hiring an Archival Assistant - Regular Part-time (Benefits eligible) - 522658 Near Tuscaloosa, AL

Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $15.48 - Midpoint: $18.56 (Hourly N2)

Department/Organization: 204905 - Curation

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, Hours Vary

Job Summary: The Archival Assistant provides assistance with cataloging and tracking documents and other materials.

Additional Department Summary: Assists curators in the UA Museums' Department of Research and Collections with various aspects of digital archiving collections. Inspects, repairs, and spot cleans films. Takes imagery of objects and specimens in the collections. Oversees film and video setups for these activities.

Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED.

Skills and Knowledge: Ability to work with minimal supervision. Attention to details and ability to work with small objects.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with digital media including (but not limited to) jpg, DNG, and MP4 file formats. Experience working with DSLR's and mirrorless cameras.
