Job Title: Food and Beverage Intern

Reports to: Assistant GM,Dining Room Managers, Banquet Managers

Department: Food & Beverage

Location: Union League Golf Club at Torresdale (3801 Grant Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19114)

Description: Assistance in daily supervision of the dining room, events, staff and support and development of the food and beverage department. Focuses on marketing outreach to increase business and boosts overall member engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with food and beverage operations at Union League Golf Club at Torresdale in Northeast Philadelphia
• Learn SevenRooms, our reservation system. Identify ways to increase member satisfaction and help managers get the most out of the system.
• Keep in constant and clear communication with management and colleagues via email. Utilize Office 365 for chat features and file sharing.
• Review member receipts and practice standard loss prevention techniques to ensure proper charging and billing.
• Help complete reports on dining numbers including covers, revenue, average check amount, etc.
• Add to the master order guide for food and beverage operations.
• Keep a detailed log and tracking sheet of our new and pre-existing uniforms in house.
• Be a self-marketer. Take pictures and craft captions to share with the Marketing team.
• Read the Banner, our monthly publication, and help to edit it.
• Perform a SWOT analysis for member dining outlets upon internship completion.
• Supports Managers and Assistant Managers in the implementation of all service standards.
• Onboards and trains all staff positions. Works with them to uphold league standards.
• Assists in maintaining all service standards on the floor. Understands the flow of the dining room and assists the team as needed.
• Develops a marketing strategy to stay consistently active and engaging for members.
• Creates weekly reach-out messages to increase cover count and overall business.
• Owns marketing content. Helps send out weekly and monthly surveys through SevenRooms / Office Forms.
• Works efficiently in SevenRooms and is able to assist support staff in any SevenRooms related questions.
• Personalizes reservations with “plus one touches” (ie: flowers, cakes, note cards, etc).
• Develops relationships with all departments and is knowledgeable of all Union League properties.
• Connects with the golf team on a daily basis to convert golfers into dining reservations, specifically groups of 8 .
• Owns every call/email. Manages member’s and guest’s requests and ensures members are directed appropriately.
• Flexible schedule based on business and event needs; required to work evenings and weekends.
• Works holidays including: Mother’s Day, Memorial Weekend, Fourth of July, Labor Day Weekend
• Other duties to be determined.
