Shift: Mostly European working hours; occasional alignment with daytime working hours in the Western US

With sales ramping up and several customers having signed on for proof of concept (POC) and implementation projects, UberCloud is extending their operations team. The Senior DevOps Engineer will have the following day-to-day responsibilities and must possess the below experience.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain automated solutions for provisioning, configuration, and deployment of applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.

• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines, enabling the development team to deliver code rapidly and safely to production environments.

• Set up monitoring tools and dashboards to proactively detect and address issues, ensuring high availability and optimal performance of our systems.

• Coordinate and oversee software releases, ensuring smooth deployments and minimizing downtime.

• Collaborate with the security team to implement best practices for data protection, access control, and system hardening.

• Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

• Diagnose and resolve production issues promptly, participating in on-call rotation as required.

• Leverage cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) to optimize infrastructure and applications for scalability and cost-effectiveness.

• Regularly review and optimize the infrastructure to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

• Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of infrastructure and processes.

Required Experience:

• At least 5 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of CI/CD principles and practices.

• Proficiency with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) and experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, ArgoCD, Tekton, Github Actions, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI) and version control systems (e.g., Git).

• Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) and container orchestration.

• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and expertise in managing cloud-based infrastructure.

• Solid understanding of networking concepts and security best practices.

• Experience with monitoring, logging and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).

• Self-disciplined, self-starting, and hard-working; able to work with a team scattered around the globe.

• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Nice to Have Experience:

- Certifications like AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or similar will be a plus
