The Trade Desk (China) is Hiring a 2024 Product Management Intern Near New York, NY

The Trade Desk is a global technology company with a mission to make the Internet better for everyone – consumers, content owners, and marketers – through principled, intelligent advertising.

Our platform operates at an unprecedented scale. Handling over 12 million requests per second, we process more queries than searches on Google, tweets on Twitter, and snaps on Snapchat combined. It doesn't get much bigger or faster than this. And after 10 years of being among the fastest growing companies in the world, we are still just getting started...

We have also built something even stronger and more valuable: an award-winning culture based on trust, empathy, collaboration, and ownership. We only hire the people who want to work well with others and enjoy building massively scalable software products. Every day our teams work across lines that often divide at other companies -- because we are more than just builders or innovators or visionaries or problem solvers... We are a team who through shared challenges, setbacks, and successes, has become more than the sum of our parts.

We are looking for people who want to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This is super challenging work that will develop your resources and skillset in ways that will set you up for a future in Product Management. You will get as much opportunity as you are willing and able to take on. If working with a lot of smart, passionate, and humble people is your thing then this may be the opportunity for you. People who thrive here love to work in teams, share ideas, build on each other's skills and experiences and ship amazing stuff. We also really value people who are creative and come at hard problems with tenacity.

So if you’re talented, driven, creative, and hungry to bring something entirely new and wildly ambitious into the world (and have some fun doing it), then we want to talk!

What you’ll do:

  • Our internship program is designed to give you a taste of how our role shapes the product we deliver. It is immersive. You will get deep into how we move fast and deliver value to customers
  • Team up with data science, user experience, engineering and our business teams - you will learn how to identify and test the best ideas that lead to growth.
  • Our interns learn the skills here that they can use anywhere. You will sit in on customer calls and learn how we gather signal to use in developing ideas.
  • You will also experience how we align our plans and communicate and collaborate with senior executives. No two days are the same.
  • Own and ship a meaningful project, end-to-end. We believe strongly in ownership at The Trade Desk, and we are committed to you having something substantial to show for your time here that will make a positive impact for the team
  • Receive one-on-one mentorship from an experienced Product Manager
  • Collaborate with a globally-connected team and other Interns

Are you looking for easy problems? This isn’t the experience for you. We are looking for people with the courage and grit to take on and tackle hard problems. And we are there to help you and coach you along the way. Like a challenge? Want to learn a lot in a short period of time and have fun doing it? This is for you.

Who you are:

  • Background in various combinations of software development, engineering, data
  • Passion -- Your work matters. Your features matter. You care and give your all
  • Grit -- Sometimes solutions take creative thinking and multiple iterations. You might try many different approaches to get to the right answer
  • Collaborative -- The best PMs are not necessarily those with the best ideas, but those that bring out the best in others and ensure the right things get done
  • Selfless -- Product Management is about making sure the best work gets done by the team and making sure they share in the credit
  • Empathy -- As a PM you are the voice of the customer and need to represent them from a position of deep understanding
  • Entrepreneur– As a PM you need to get out there and convince others of your ideas
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills
  • The ability to solve complex, technical problems with creative solutions while managing tradeoffs
  • Strong interest in what computing can do -- a passion for technology and how to apply that to problems of massive scale
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program
  • Have an expected graduation date between Fall 2024 and Summer 2025
  • You can work in one of our physical office locations for the duration of your internship. Role available in Bellevue WA or New York NY

What you’re looking for:

Do you want to work on a meaningful and impactful project that makes a difference? Are you eager to innovate? - to work on unsolved problems where you are responsible for the outcome. Do you have a passion for solving hard problems at scale? Are you looking to join a trust-based, globally-connected team, where your contributions will make a meaningful difference?

What and how you can contribute is what’s important to us. Our consideration is not limited by the kind of education you have or the specific technologies you have experience with. We care about having good people to pitch in. Our culture is creative, energetic, and collaborative. Those aren’t perks – those are just the way we do business.

If this sounds like you, we welcome your application and invite you to find out why The Trade Desk has been named to the Fortune Future 50 list and the list of 100 fastest growing companies as well as Yello naming The Trade Desk a Top 100 Internship Program of 2023 and why we received the Intern Growth Award!
