The Town of Parker is Hiring a Recreation Manager on Duty (PT) Near Location Varies, CO

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for shift-based supervision of seasonal facilities and the associated participants and staff. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Performs front-line, day-to-day staff and facility oversight at any of the following locations: 
    • H2O’Brien Pool – Concessions/Front Desk 
    • Discovery Park Ice Trail
    • Salisbury Park – Concessions
  • Responsible for the safe, clean, and efficient operation of a seasonal Recreation Facility during the assigned shift. 
 
  • Utilizes resources to effectively serve customers and remedy complaints or conflicts in a professional manner.
 
  • Supervises part-time employees during assigned shift; assists with hiring, evaluating performance, training, disciplinary procedures, and employee recognition. 
 
  • Responsible for the education and enforcement of the Recreation Facility Policies and Procedures. 
 
  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
 
  • Responds to emergency situations, provides appropriate care, and completes necessary reports and communication.
 
  • Assists with the completion of shift-based facility maintenance, inspection, and cleaning checklists.
 
  • Ensures assigned facility, venues, and building equipment is in proper working order to maintain safe conditions for patrons and staff.
 
  • Conducts routine site walkthroughs, identifying and remedying realized or potential safety, maintenance, cleanliness or inventory concerns, reports findings of the same.
 
  • Oversees and participates in setup, teardown, and cleanup of various programs, activities, rentals, and special events.
 
  • Utilizes effective written and oral communication techniques to communicate with Town of Parker staff, management, and the public in a positive and professional manner. This includes the use of technology to complete and disseminate reports and checklists. 
 
  • Works irregular hours, weekends, evenings, and/or holidays.
 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 
The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, certification and/or licensure required. An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties and meet the necessary employment standards may be considered.

Must be 18 years of age or older. 
 
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
 
Two (2) years of experience in customer service, recreation programming or related field is preferred. 
 
Supervisory or lead worker experience is preferred.

Minimum, Additional Qualifications – H2O’Brien Pool – Concessions/Salisbury Park Concessions MOD:

  • Possession of or the ability to obtain CPR, First Aid and AED certification within ninety (90) days of hire.
  • Knowledge of front desk and/or concession operations. 
  • One (1) year of experience in a food service management role preferred.
  • One (1) year of experience in a customer service management role preferred.
 
Minimum, Additional Qualifications – Discovery Park Ice Trail MOD:

  • Possession of or the ability to obtain CPR, First Aid and AED certification within ninety (90) days of hire.
  • Completion of concussion recognition training within ninety (90) days of hire; must be renewed, annually. 
  • Knowledge of front desk and/or concession operations. 
  • One (1) year of experience in a customer service management role preferred.
 
Employment Standards

  • Knowledge of recreation center equipment and facilities.

  • Skill in the use of computers and various software programs.
  • Skill in the provision of customer service.
  • Skill in provision of conflict management techniques 
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to handle incidents reports and confrontations in a recreation facility and/or program.
  • Ability to provide a positive customer service attitude towards all customers and participants.
  • Ability to operate and repair small/light equipment, such as power tools or cleaning equipment. 
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks at relatively the same time.
  • Ability to concentrate on detail.

Tools & Equipment
Requires frequent use of general office equipment, recreational equipment (i.e., aquatics equipment, lifesaving equipment, pool equipment, ice maintenance equipment and/or concession supplies).

Physical Demands
Requires regular sitting, standing, walking, talking, handling, feeling or operating objects, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Requires occasional reaching with hands and arms, climbing and balancing. Requires moderate physical activity with heavy lifting, up to fifty (50) pounds. Requires close and distance vision acuity and the ability to adjust focus, allowing a broad field of vision. 
 
Environment
Work is performed in both climate-controlled offices and open-air environments, employees holding this position may be exposed to extreme cold or heat and wetness/humidity. The noise level is usually high and may range from moderate to extreme. The employee may occasionally work with or around hazardous items or hazardous conditions such as mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, chemicals, or radiant energy.Part-time and Seasonal Town of Parker employees have limited access to benefits which include: employee assistance program (EAP), one (1) hour of sick time accrued for every thirty (30) hours worked, and employee plus one (1) other member in your household a membership to the Parker Recreation Center and/or Fieldhouse.
