Timken Belts, located in Springfield, MO, is searching for production supervisor.
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for overseeing associates in various manufacturing departments responsible for the production of Belts for the Springfield plant.
Essential Job Duties:
  • Manage activities, processes, and strategic plans of the company that support the vision, marketing, and financial objectives.
  • Analyze processes and procedures to produce maximum service with minimal downtime.
  • Manage employee relations including hiring, disciplinary action, training, coaching and counseling
  • Record and approve employee time and attendance.
  • Record and manage data within appropriate timelines.
  • Utilize computer skills, including data entry and database management.
  • Provide oral and written communication across various levels of the company.
  • Drive results and continuous improvement in the organization.
  • Cover other supervisor's shift/department if they are out.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED (validation is required)
  • 2-5 years of supervisor experience preferred.
Technical/Functional Skills:
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Practical knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma strategies
  • Self motivated with effective organizational skills
  • Practice a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in computer use and Microsoft Office programs
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and complete necessary production forms. Ability to speak effectively with fellow employees and/or customers.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, rate, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, schedule, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables; problem solving ability.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, and use hands/arms. The employee is regularly required to talk, hear at conversational level, and smell. The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. Moving/lifting greater than 50 pounds requires assistance from another employee or a lifting device/hoist. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is may be frequently exposed to chemicals, hot/cold conditions, or noisy conditions.
Required Personal Protective Equipment: Employee is required to wear proper safety eyewear and steel-toed shoes at all times while on the plant floor.
