Overview

Computer Technicians will provide equipment support and facility technical operations and maintenance, copper cable and fiber optic installation, LAN test equipment, workstation/personal computer installation, testing of networks/electrical, and installing and maintaining of network switches, routers, fiber optic, coaxial and twisted-pair cable plants, associated software, voice, video and data networks (VTC), and hardware peripherals. Computer Technicians will plan the coordination and deployment of installations, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems. Responsible for managing accounts, network rights, file permissions, access to systems and equipment. Maintain system images, configuration, and backups. Basic network connectivity troubleshooting, and effectively communicate daily IT operations, and serve as the intermediary between the end-user workstation and working with the SLBM leadership. Comprehensive technical support, application services, security, administrative control, user management, patch management and training for all operational systems and help personnel effectively use SLBM applications and equipment. Provide end to end management of the SLBM IT system – classified and unclassified –network connections and firewalls, networked workstations, stand-alone non-SLBM computers not on the network, and laptops.

REQUIREMENTS:

• The employee must have or the ability to have a Security Clearance at the Secret Final level (may not start with an Interim Clearance).• The Computer Technician position requires an active CompTIA Security certification (or similar) to be included as a Cyber Security Work Force (CSWF) member.• There are no telework options for employees as SLBM projects are performed daily in a secure lab environment.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:

As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results.
