The Tandym Group is Hiring an EHS Specialist I (Hybrid) Near Valhalla, NY

A biopharmaceutical company in New York is looking to add a new EHS Specialist I to their growing team in Westchester County.
***This is a Hybrid opportunity requiring the qualified professional to work onsite at least 3 days a week.***
Responsibilities:
The EHS Specialist I will:
  • Assist in implementing various EHS programs and initiative
  • Assist in implementing safety management systems and environmental systems
  • Assist with implementing emergency response programs
  • Conduct weekly surveys of laboratory and waste areas where radioactive materials are used
  • Assist with EHS on the job training and class room training
  • Perform routine ergonomic assessments and makes recommendations
  • Document and investigate work-related injuries and/or illnesses and implements corrective actions
  • Maintain industrial hygiene (IH) equipment and perform IH monitoring of laboratory and support personnel to assess potential exposure to hazardous chemicals
  • Performs EHS audits of labs, support areas, and offices
  • Assist with revising safety related polices and procedures as required
  • Maintain and organizes EHS stock rooms
  • Perform respiratory protection inspections
  • Perform data analysis using data analytics software and Excel spreadsheets
Qualifications:
  • 6 months of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Computer savvy
  • Solid problem solving and time management skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communications kills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
Desired Skills:
  • Previous experience in EHS or a laboratory setting
  • Microsoft Excel proficient
